Base Metals Operations Associate Job

Location:             Stamford, CT

Main Responsibilities:

• Ensure payments and invoices are processed in a timely manner
• Negotiate ocean freight as well as over the road truck rates.
• Maintain freight matrix
• Update and maintain allocation spreadsheets for both domestic and export shipments
• Arrange delivery appointments for domestic shipments and coordinate shipped /received weights
• Monitor and arrange domestic truck/ rail movements
• Arrange bookings for overseas shipments and track shipments
• Arrange CCIC inspections and coordinate between CCIC and our suppliers
• Monitor A/R, A/P
• Process invoices for freight, brokerage, etc.

General Requirements

• Prefer 1-3 years of domestic and export operations experience
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently with focus on details and accuracy
• Capable of handling multiple tasks
• Able to think outside the box
• Proficient with excel
• Good communicator – verbally and in written form
• Strong computer skills
• Strong mathematical skills
• Good team player – but able to work daily with little supervision
