Due Diligence Job – Residential Mortgage Loans

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

– Manage various aspects of the mortgage loan due diligence process involving third-party service providers and internal MBS and ABS staff to assess credit, regulatory compliance and collateral risk of loans underlying whole loan settlements and securitizations

– Possess knowledge of various product risks including, but not limited to, Prime, Alt-A, Sub-Prime, Second Liens/ HLTV and scratch and dent

– Knowledge of federal, state and local predatory lending laws and the impact on mortgages

– Provide exceptional customer service for whole loan and securitization transactions from inception to completion

– Work closely with trading and sales professionals to ensure risks are congruent with UBS underwriting philosophy

– Responsible for management of a network of vendors and service providers

– Work with mortgage insurance providers, monoline insurers, and rating agencies regarding the credit quality of underlying collateral

– Develop underwriting guidelines for flow production of Prime, Alt A and Sub-prime risk types

– Solid knowledge of FNMA/FHLMC underwriting guidelines

– Manage enhancements to the existing workflow management system which processes and records due diligence orders, and creates trade calendars, etc.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

– 4 year college degree required

– A minimum of five years credit experience

– Formal credit training preferred

– Deal management experience required

– Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment

– Excellent communication skills

– Proficient in Excel and database tools
